You are cordially invited to attend the DISCERN Annual Lecture by Revd. Canon Professor Leslie Francis. The event will be held at the Old Refectory, Archbishop’s Curia, on Wednesday 27th November 2019 at 19:00 hours and will be followed by refreshments in honour of the outgoing Chairperson of Discern, Rev. Dr. Joe Inguanez.
Professor Francis will be delivering an address on Listening to the Congregation, based on his experience and research as an Anglican priest and Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Having previously served as Professor of Pastoral Theology at the University of Wales, Lampeter, and as Professor of Practical Theology at Bangor University, he currently serves as Professor of Religions and Education at the University of Warwick, England.
Professor Francis also serves as Canon Theologian at Liverpool Cathedral, England, and as Honorary Distinguished Canon at Manchester Cathedral, England, and in the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. His recent books include Anglican Cathedrals in Modern Life (2015), The Empirical Science of Religious Education (2016), Lessons in Spiritual Development (2017), Values, Human Rights and Religious Education (2018), and Religions and Education: The voices of young people in Ireland (2019).
