Newsbook Business Breakfast Invite
“Economy vs Environment?”
The debate on economy and environment seems to have taken an adversarial role. Many economic operators cite added expenses, change management burdens and effects from other countries. Environmentalists speak of carbon footprints, climate crisis and doomsday scenarios.
A distinguished panel will place before the audience challenging ideas and data with the aim of stimulating a debate. Are the economy and the environment destined to be eternal rivals? Will one perish at the expense of the other or can they happily co-exist? Can we go ‘business as usual’ on the environment or have we passed the point of no return?
The panel will be led by Minister for the Environment Jose Herrera, Opposition Spokesperson for the Environment Jason Azzopardi, Economist Gordon Cordina, Developer Sandro Chetcuti and CEO of the Energy and Water Agency Manuel Sapiano. The panel will be moderated by Jes Saliba who will also be taking comments from movers and shakers in the community, attending the business breakfast. Your participation will be of great value as a post-discussion document will be presented to government with positions of different entities who have already confirmed their attendance.
We look forward to meeting you on Thursday 14th November 2019 @ 08:30h at The Palace, Sliema. Participation and parking are free of charge.
