Meeting with Archbishop Elect Charles Scicluna

We had a good meeting with Archbishop Elect Charles Scicluna last Tuesday 3rd March which was very well attended by members. Following an introduction to CAPPF’s activities in Malta ( Mgr Scicluna knows us well), he spoke about the environment, the  “blessings of the welfare state”, the evil of corruption, and the hike on salaries of Government employee categories that are not considered to be “giving as much as they are taking”. The meeting was very cordial and interactive.

Lawrence Gonzi – Member of the Foundation’s Advisory Board

Dr Gonzi has been invited by the President of CAPPF to join the Advisory Board of the Foundation. This is a great honour for our group.

Malta Enterprise – CAPPF – Pastoral Formation Institute (PFI) Event

The Chairman of Malta Enterprise has invited CAPPF Malta and the Pastoral Formation Institute (PFI) to organise a seminar/workshop on economic growth and the common good at the University of Malta. Fr Mark and I met Dr Mario Vella this week and we are now preparing a draft programme. The idea is to experiment on this 90 minute meeting with the objective of creating awareness of the social implications of growth and investment on society. More details later.
