Session 8 : Spiritual reflections on the pandemic
Topics to be addressed:
- What challenges has the pandemic brought for the Church and for faith communities, and what lessons can the Church learn from them?
- What opportunities does the pandemic provide for the new evangelisation and for a renewal of faith, and what role do faith communities have to play in rebuilding the social fabric of a nation?
- What can certain saints teach us, who lived through pandemics and other hardships?

Fr Millico bio
Father Ivano Millico, of the Archdiocese of Westminster, is Parish Priest at Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Clerkenwell. An economist by training, Father Ivano has found his vocation in the Neocatechumenal Way in London. He is Spiritual Counsellor for the French-speaking Teams of Our Lady and part of Newman House University Chaplaincy Team. He has published several books and booklets with the Catholic Truth Society, namely, ‘Seeing the Pandemic with Eyes of Faith,’ ‘7 Words on Marriage,’ ‘The Meaning of Lent,’ and ‘The Door of Mercy.’ Since the lockdown he has been recording on YouTube a Sunday Gospel meditation called Spiritual Seeds.
Fr Ivano’s book, ‘Seeing the Pandemic with Eyes of Faith’ is one of the best reflections I have read about the pandemic. I would urge you all to read it. It is very well-written and insightful and can be read in one sitting in under two hours.
