UNITED STATES

CAPP-USA was established in 2003 as an extension of the Foundation Centesimus Annus – Pro Pontifice to promote in depth knowledge of the Social Doctrine of the Church in the United States. ts declared mission, approved by Pope John Paul II, is to evangelize lay leaders and help them form their conscience in accordance with the fundamental principles of SDC (dignity of the human person, solidarity and subsidiarity) so that they may, in turn, spread the spirit and presence of the Catholic Church throughout American society.

CAPP-USA is therefore a missionary organization of the Catholic Church, which has been given the task of promoting the knowledge and implementation of that corpus of principles, born of the wisdom of two thousand years of tradition and over a hundred years of attentive observation of the world in which we live, that constitutes the Social Doctrine of the Church.

To this end CAPP-USA, in cooperation with the Catholic University of America (CUA), established and runs the Certificate Program in Catholic Social Teaching, an annual SDC course now approaching its VIII edition.

CAPP-USA’s Chairman is Frederick F. Fakharzadeh, President, Treasurer, Director and executive committee member; Robert A. Nalewajek (Presidente Emeritus) is Executive Vice President, Director and executive commitee member; James E. Rice is Vice President, Secretary, Director, Exceutive committee member and Dorector of Vatican CAPP Foundation; Henry Schwalbenberg is Director.

In accordance with USA tax code requirements, CAPP-USA is an independent entity, with the ability to remove its Directors retained by the Board of Fondazione Centesimus Annus – Pro Pontifice.
