Politics, the Common Good – a Call to Public Life is the theme of a programme which offers multidisciplinary perspectives on the contribution of politics to the common good.
A number of renowned local scholars, professionals and practitioners have generously accepted to participate in the programme, together with international speakers, including Lord Glasman and Dr Adrian Pabst. The course aims to help participants explore how faith, ethics and politics are related, and to encourage and support new entrants into the public sphere in their commitment to be of service to others in the attainment of a better society.
The programme, which is being offered jointly by the Pastoral Formation Institute and the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation is inspired by the history of political engagement in Europe and Malta and by Catholic Social Teaching, will be spread over four weekend sessions, held on Fridays from 1730h till 2030h and on Saturdays from 0930h till 1230h.
It will start on October 17th and will come to an end on Saturday November 15th 2014.
End of Year Thanksgiving Holy Mass and dinner – 15th December 2014 at 18.30 hours
Holy Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel of St Anne at Fort St Elmo, Valletta followed by Dinner (venue still to be announced).
